Trish & Liam // The Wilderness, Kent
The Wilderness wedding venue based in Kent, provided the perfect setting for Trish and Liam’s festival themed wedding. What a stunning place it is!
The Morning preparations began in a relaxed and laid back fashion with Trish and her bridesmaids having their hair and make-up done while Liam and his groomsmen added the finishing touches to the venue. Luckily for us, Liam happily read out a letter he’d received from Trish in the hours leading up to the ceremony.
Brides don’t often voice their thoughts and feelings on the day of a wedding as it’s rare for a bride to give a speech. However, we love encouraging brides to send a few words to her groom prior to the ceremony as it really helps us to capture a much more rounded story. Despite this, our hope is that more brides will feel encouraged to deliver a speech during the wedding breakfast. It is much more common in America and Australia than it is here, which is unfortunate. I guess we Brits are more stuck in our ways when it comes to traditions. The same goes for the maid of honour — it’s great when a maid of honour delivers a speech.
As friends and family gathered around to witness the ceremony, Trish and her bridesmaids arrived in a VW Beetle and VW Camper Van. The ceremony was followed by a fun filled reception as a fantastic acoustic band serenaded throughout.
Liam’s best man performed an excellent speech, entertaining everybody with his comedy. I feel the best man has the most difficult job during the speeches because he is the one who is expected to make everybody laugh. With his excellent storytelling, Liam’s best man delivered one of the most entertaining best man’s speeches we’ve ever heard.
We captured some shots of the venue while the bride and groom and their guest enjoyed a meal. It’s always nice for us to use the time to decompress and recharge a little while capturing shots of the venue and its surroundings. The Wilderness wedding venue’s meadow is a peaceful place to spend some time.
We enjoyed working alongside Trish and Liam’s photographer Paul Fuller, who was a pleasure to be around. Together we eagerly anticipated ‘golden hour’ as we knew the meadow would look stunning in the sunlight. As a wedding videographer who always wants to improve, we really value working alongside talented photographers.
For those of you who are unaware, ‘golden hour’ is the hour prior to sunset. During this time, the light is at its most magical. You’ll always hear wedding videographers and photographers talking about it — the golden hour is what we live for! Sometimes, If there is too much cloud cover or there is not a clear view of the horizon, it’s not always possible to capture this beautiful majestic light at a wedding. Fortunately, the golden hour gifted us a with beautiful sunlight for Trish and Liam’s portrait shoot.
Trish and Liam’s guests made the most of the evening party, busting some funky moves on the dance floor while we captured the fun.
What an incredible day at The Wilderness Wedding Venue in Kent we were fortunate to be a part of. We loved every second of making this wedding video and telling Trish and Liam’s Story. We look forward to returning to The Wilderness wedding venue again soon and we hope our wedding videography encapsulates the wonderful day it was.
